Future Plans

  • To induct male mental patients from the jails as Residents.
  • To establish a resource centre for providing opportunities for exposure to students/researchers and others on the rehab process.
  • To start Drop-in-Centres for the mentally ill.
  • To diversify occupational therapy set-up to enable the Ex-Residents to avail of quicker and wider choices, in income generation options after rehabilitation.
  • To publish a collection of case studies of Residents and Ex- Residents, written as human interest stories.
  • To prepare a comprehensive manual of the process of rehabilitation followed at Paripurnata.
  • To develop training modules for graduate/post graduate nursing students.
 

Honors & Awards

In March 2007 Paripurnata received the Ladies Study Group Charitable Trust Annual Award: “for its outstanding contribution towards psycho-social rehabilitation of mentally ill, thus socially conferred ostracized women.” Dr. Joyce Siromoni Hon. Secretary of Paripurnta received the 2004 Paul Harrison Award from the Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore, Chennai.

Further, in 2005, The World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation (Indian Chapter) conferred Dr. Joyce Siromoni with the Lifetime Achievement Award, for her vision, inspiration and dedicated work in psychosocial rehabilitation of the mentally ill.
